Grasim India and Omikenshi Japan come together to explore new markets

Aditya Birla Group owned enterprise, Grasim India and Japan's Omikenshi have now signed a deal, whereby the fabric specialists will be exploring new markets together, especially for their functional rayon products. Together with testing new products, they will so synergize their production and marketing efforts to ensure that heightened volumes of demand can safely be met. The main focus of the this deal, will be the joint Research and Development programme whereby the companies would be pooling together their know-how in order to produce, and do so according to the quality standards they aspire for in the international market.

Putting in on the table simply, both the companies bring in complementory resources for each other: Grasim has the production capacity, and experience. Omikenshi on the other hand has the technical expertise to cater to segments like rayon products, which if combined have reat potential as a joint venture. Very aptly summarised by chief of Omikenshi Makoto Otomura, " We believe that the combination of Grasim's considerable production capacity and Omikenshi's functional rayon technology will open markets for both companies." With the otherwise flat manufacturing industry in India in recent times, such news could signal towards a positive future with new jobs and perhaps a slightly her growth rate for the industrial segment. How the enterpises partner in India and what the country benefits in from the the deal, will be something to watch out for.
