Samsung gets whopping 9M pre-orders for new Galaxy S III handset

After the successful launch of Galaxy S I and S II smartphones, Samsung Electronics Co is all set to grab more eyeballs with the third-generation of its smartphone range Galaxy S.

According to latest update, Samsung Electronics Co has received some 9 million pre-orders for its third-generation Galaxy S smartphone from more than 100 global carriers.
Reliable insiders informed, Galaxy SIII will first go on sale on May 29 in Germany before being rolled out to other countries.

The Galaxy S III is expected to be at least powered by a dual-core processor, but some other rumors are indicating the presence of a quad-core chipset.
It is worth noticing, Samsung became the world's top smartphone maker in the previous year, backed by strong sales of Galaxy lineups. The South Korea based smartphone maker has sold over 40 million Galaxy smartphones since the model was released back in June 2010.

Owing to the fast-growing popularity of Galaxy lineup, Samsung Electronics is spearheading in many countries including India.  As a result, Samsung has posed threat to the other smartphones makers including Apple, Nokia, BlackBerry etc.

Analysts added, Samsung is hoping to strengthen its position in handset market with the latest launch of Galaxy S III smartphone. However, the real test of Galaxy S III will come, when it hits stores. For that, users have to wait little more.
