Toyota Kirloskar logs 49 percent sales growth

Japanese-Indian car joint venture Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt Ltd began the fiscal 2012-13 on a positive note, logging 49 percent sales growth in April over the same period in 2011.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor got huge gains through its sales of Etios Range of cars. It is a leading Japanese carmaker. Almost 8,874 units of this Toyota Etios have been sold in the month of January 2012. It means the company recorded the sales of total 17.395 units in the month of January 2012. If we compare between the sales of January 2011 and January 2012, then the sales record of present year is big as it is recorded more than 89% sales this month. In January 2011, company recorded the sales of only 9,187 sales.

 Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director - Marketing, said, “It’s been a good start to the year with a robust growth. We are happy with the response to the Etios series, the new Innova and the new Fortuner. The increase in the plant capacity has helped us cater to the large demand for our vehicles facilitating higher sales in January 2012. We expect to see a further growth in Fortuner sales with an increase in its production from the month of February onwards.”

Nearly 4,844 units have been sold in January 2012 whereas only 1,651 units have been sold in January 2011. Nearly 4,030 units have been sold by Etios Liva and 941 and 6,794 units have been sold by Both Fortuner and Innova respectively. Corolla Altis recorded the sales of 785 units
