Lalhaba Oinam has become the first citizen of India to be selected for pursuing Medical Science (English Programme) 2012 of Medicines and Medical Sciences (School of Medical Sciences) at University of Sukuba, Japan.
He has been awarded a scholarship in the regard by the University.
Lalhaba Oinam, S/o Oinam Jugindro and Oinam Ongbi Renu of Singjamei Chingamakha Chanam Pukhri Mapal did his schooling from Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khumbong.
He had also received the Chacha Nehru Award in 2007.
