A technical team from Japan is likely to pay a visit to the site where Maruti Suzuki India’s new manufacturing plants are to be located. This team is expected to visit for two days in the coming week and will survey the new site, reports Business Standard.

This site was also inspected at the end of April this year by Osamu Suzuki, Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corp. Investments to the tune of INR 2,000 to 2,200 crores are expected to be invested in the Hansalpur site which has already attracted key vendors such as Jai Bharat Maruti, Caparo Maruti and Futaba while other vendors are expected to enter the region in the future.

Maruti Suzuki’s new plant at Hansalpur near Bechraji in Mehsana district of Gujarat is scheduled to get commissioned by mid 2015. As per company’s schedule, the plant will be completed and production is expected to commence by 2015-16. The plant will have output of 2.5 lakh units per annum.
