Through the course of the past few months, Fujifilm has revealed a fair share of superzoom cameras and the neat part of these cameras is that they come with an affordable price tag, in comparison to its competitors. Fujifilm India Pvt. Ltd., which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujifilm Holding Corporation, Japan, brings this super zoom bridge camera in Indian market. The FinePix S2980 is ideal for people who are beginners in professional photography. In a nutshell, the FinePix S2980 houses impressive features, including a 14 megapixel CCD sensor, which delivers large, high-resolution images, 28mm wide angle, 18x Fujinon optical zoom, which gets you close to the action, a large 3.0-inch LCD screen and HD movie capture.

Fujifilm claims that with the FinePix S2980, one does not have to compromise on distorted pictures, as its extensive focal range coupled with multiple image stabilization technologies provides the sharpest images possible.

“We have improved in-camera processing in FinePix S2980. With this enhanced feature, uploading pictures/movies to Facebook or YouTube will be easy as you can start the process in your camera by tagging the images you want to share. The next time you connect to your home computer, your images will upload automatically. It also offers fantastic zoom option ranging from wide angle to stunning 504mm,” said Mr. K Tanaka, Managing Director, Fujifilm India

FinePix S2980 lets you discover the impact of full-screen HDTV image display, thanks to the 720p HD movie recording in 16:9 format featured in the camera. This camera also incorporates a System Automatic Scene Recognition (SR AUTO), which identifies six different types of situations, to optimize contrast detection decision function. Through this feature, the camera automatically detects the framed scenes and selects the appropriate camera setting from Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait.

“Professional photographers are always keen to capture their shots manually and our new addition in the S-series can be operated fully manual mode also. The high-performance shooting functions of the S2980 give you total versatility and the optimum setting for any scene. The camera automatically stitches together three consecutive shots, with simple in-frame guidance to ensure the images are aligned. The resulting image is saved to the memory card as an impressive panoramic photo,” said Mr. Rohit Pandit, Executive Vice President (DSC), Fujifilm India.

The Fujifilm FinePix S2980 is available in India at a price of Rs. 12,499 and it comes with a two year warranty.
